Under general supervision, the Public Works Director reports to the Deputy County Manager – Operations and/or County Manager and is responsible for administrative and managerial duties related to planning, organizing, analyzing, coordinating, controlling, reviewing, and directing all phases of county-wide public works operations, including grants, contract engineering, highways, and storm drains. Leads, directs, and supervises reporting personnel to include work procedures, workloads, and work schedules by directing the workflow in such a manner as to promote productive efficiency of employees, a safe working environment, and managing the work unit in keeping with applicable laws and Taos County’s policies, guidelines, and EEO/affirmative action policies.
