Primary Purpose
Operates heavy-duty trucks for the transportation of equipment, construction materials or refuse.
Essential Job Functions
Inspects trucks and equipment prior to and during operation; performs minor maintenance of equipment.
Including cleaning and washing, flat and equipment repair; performs brake inspections and adjustments; maintains daily logs; prepares reports as needed.
Transports refuse from transfer station to landfill; operates scraper to haul dirt to cover refuse; operates refuse compactor; operates grader to maintain roads in and surrounding landfill; operates dozer to dig and cover as needed.
Weighs commercial and non-commercial vehicles using landfill, and maintains records of activity.
