One of NMC’s greatest strengths is its advocacy role with legislative issues (local, state, and federal) affecting county government.

As a key service to local government and as a source of information for local, state, and federal elected officials and government agencies, NMC’s public policy efforts reflect positions that represent the interests of all New Mexico counties. NMC has an outstanding reputation for its lobbying for local government, technical expertise, understanding of and respect for the political process, and its willingness to help build consensus for challenging and emerging issues at the state and federal level.
